Clermont-Ferrand, France, 18-20 Avril 2012
The conference and Neutrino Radiography 2012 will be held in Clermont Ferrand April 18-20. The aim of the conference is to gather scientists from different fields involved in the imagery of large structures using muons and neutrinos. In the continuation of the pioneer workshops organized in Tokyo in 2008 and 2011, this conference will offer the opportunity to discuss the state of the art at the international level in the following domains:
The call for abstracts and the registration are open on the workshop web pages:http://mnt2012.in2p3.fr/

Leirubakki and Kirkjubæjarklaustur 20-29 August 2012
The overall structure of the summer school is four days of lectures from leading scientists, posters and presentations from participants and four days of field demonstrations. The summer school will take place in two locations, at Hotel Leirubakki, at the foot of the Hekla volcano, and at Hotel Klaustur in Kirkubæjarklaustur, South Iceland. These locations are close to the most active volcanic zone in Iceland where different types of eruption sites and large tephra layers can be studied. In the field trips a wide variety of tephra deposits and eruptions sites will be visited and studied.

Olot, Spain, 15-28 October 2012
This course aims to explain how volcanoes work and the risk and benefits associated with them. The course will be held at the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone (Olot, Spain), which offers the possibility of combining theoretical sessions with field trips. The course will offer a review of the latest developments in the understanding of volcanic eruptions dynamics, as well as their effects, monitoring techniques, hazard assessment, educational and social aspects . The course is addressed to spanish-speaking students in their final year of career, PhD students and professionals and technicians working at volcano observatories.

The IAVCEI Collapse Calderas Commission - CCC was created in 2008 to have a wider and deeper understanding on calderas. It includes caldera geology, geodesy and geophysics, modelling, magma chamber processes, volcanic hazard and risk management, economic benefits and environmental research. CCC promotes interdisciplinary interaction to help solve the many questions regarding the formation, evolution and affect on society of collapse calderas. Previous meetings were held at Tenerife, Canarias, (2005), Mexican Volcanic Belt (2008) and Reunion (2010).
The workshop is devoted at understanding the different aspects related to calderas, including the structure and development, erupted products and eruptive history, unrest episodes, magmatic processes, geodetic, geophysical and geochemical signature, mathematical and analogue models, as well as the related economic and environmental research. The workshop includes 2 days of scientific meeting, with oral and poster sessions, and 3 days of field trip at Bolsena, Latera and Vico calderas.

El Hierro, Canary Islands, Spain, 10-15 October 2012
The International Workshop on Oceanic Island Volcanoes & Society: El Hierro 2012 is an international volcano meeting for commemorating the 1 st anniversary of the 2011-12 submarine eruption off the southern coast of El Hierro (Canary Islands, Spain). This workshop is planned as an international forum for specialists working on active volcanic islands to discuss about reducing volcanic risk. Many oceanic and active volcanic islands are facing higher levels of vulnerability and exposure to more risk because of increasing population. Therefore, island communities need to conduct a systematic program for volcanic islands by assessing the risk of future volcanic activity and its effects as well as implementing all the recommended actions for reducing volcanic risk.
