Who can apply?
Applications are for Early Stage Researchers (ESRs), meaning whoever, at the time of recruitment:
- has received, by less than 4 years (full time equivalent), the degree that in his/her country, or in the country of appointment, gives access to a PhD;
- does not possess a PhD yet.
ESRs can be of any nationality, provided that they have not resided or developed their main activity (job, study, …) in the country where the call is open, for more than 12 months during last 3 years. Periods of vacation are not counted.

What are the recruitment criteria?
- High level of education, particularly for applicants from countries with academic systems different from those of European countries;
- experience on the themes of the call, as from previous studies and/or research activities. Aspects that will be evaluated include: possession of a master degree; attendance of specialized courses/workshops/etc.; participation to projects and campaigns; any other previous experience contributing to increase the level of qualification;
- additional specific knowledge and skills, including fluency in English;
- aspects of personality such as creativity, level of independence, good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain efficient working relationships and carry out the foreseen program.
What types of expenses are covered?
- Living Allowance: basic amount to be paid to the researchers in monthly instalments.
- Mobility Allowance: monthly payment of a fixed amount to cover expenses of the researcher related to his/her mobility (e.g. relocation, family charges).
- Contribution to the participation expenses of eligible researchers: this contribution is managed by the hosting organisation for expenses related to the participation of the researchers in research and training activities (contribution to research-related costs, meetings, conference attendance, training actions).
